1946 Iowa State Fair

Page 3

This a view inside of the International harvester tent during a show. A stage was at one end of the tent under the mass of flood lights with the audio control room on one end of the stage and the video control room on the other.

This photo is of young Bill Riley interviewing the public on camera. The show was called "Over the Fence at the Fair". This show was a daily feature during the week but it wasn't done on weekends.

This photo shows a camera mounted on a flatbed truck outside of the International Harvester tent. This was used to show the fair attendees as they entered the main tent. Later this set-up was used as a remote camera to televise the harness races and the auto races from a vantage point inside the race track at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. At the mike was John Hackett, Sports Director giving details of the races. All Television programs originated from the KRNT Television Studios in the International Harvester Headquarters, Iowa State Fair, except the remotes. Television equipment was from the laboratories of RCA Victor, Camden, N.J.
