KCBC had perhaps the most aggressive and successful sales staffs ever in the Des Moines market. The station was small, but the revenue stream was constant. An important ingredient is to have a good rapport with your clients. In this case, the sales promotion director for Thriftway, Dale Derrick had given a book to the station and a thank you note from the station management was received. Note that, as good salesmen, even in this thank you note, they asked for more business. A good salesman always "asks for the order."
