KDMI 97.3 and 1460 Merle Hay Rd Studios
1974 to 2001
From its return to a religious format headed by the Rev. Buddy Tucker in 1969, KDMI was located in the former KSO studios at 1910 Ingersoll Avenue. In 1974, the studio for the 97.3 frequency moved to its longtime location at 2907 Merle Hay Road. KDMI operated with a power of 115,000 watts from a tower site near Grimes. Here are a couple pictures from that era. KDMI was on 97.3 FM until 1994 and migrated to 1460 AM until 2001. The KDMI call letters are no longer heard on the radio dial, but were picked up by digital TV channel 19 in 2006.
