The Katz Agency was KRNT's national advertising representative in 1969 and the following audio presentation was was recorded on September 17, 1969 and submitted by KRNT, to be used by Katz to promote the station for national advertising buys. These presentations and composite airchecks were (and are still) standard procedure. KRNT had recently adjusted their music format and news presentation to represent a more contemporary approach and a more immediate local on-the-scene news presence. This approach had, for years been successful for Top-40 stations. KRNT was in the process of modernizing.
