Items from the
1938 Broadcasting Yearbook

Here are a few interesting items from the 1938 Broadcasting Yearbook that involved
Des Moines radio stations.

At that time, Des Moines had only three radio stations: WHO, KRNT and KSO

WHO was on 1000 Khz, KRNT 1320 Khz and KSO was at 1430 Khz

The Communications Act of 1934 and the FCC were only 4 years old.

Television was only in the experimental stages but there was an experimental TV
station the the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
