These are the specs for the 2,000 ft KCCI television tower. The first tower collapsed during construction due to high winds in a blizzard. Fortunately, nobody was hurt. The replacement was erected soon afterwards.
KCCI was originally slated to share a tower with WHO-TV and WOI-TV. KCCI drew the third straw in the drawing for placement height on the tower and the owner at the time, Cowles Communications Inc (where the CCI in the call letters was derived), decided to put up their own individual tower.
